Today's tour takes you along the Mosel Cycle Path from Bernkastel-Kues to Traben-Trarbach and from there back to Traben-Trarbach by boat.

You start in Bernkastel-Kues at the Mosel parking lot, from where you follow the Mosel Cycle Path downstream.

You cycle past Graach to Zeltingen-Rachtig. Shortly before you reach the village, you will see a sundial in the middle of the vineyards, which gives its name to the "Zeltinger Sonnenuhr" vineyard. It's worth taking a detour through the town center with its old manor houses and half-timbered houses before the bike path takes you further along the shore. Opposite Rachtig is the former Cistercian monastery of Machern, within whose walls you can now find a museum, a wine cabinet and a monastery brewery with a taproom.

The Moselle Cycle Path continues through the wine villages of Erden, Lösnich and Kindel. Off the road you reach Wolf, from where the path follows the main road on its own lane and soon reaches the art nouveau town of Traben-Trarbach. High above the town lies the ruins of Grevenburg Castle, but Traben-Trarbach also has a lot to offer: among other things, numerous Art Nouveau buildings and the museum row with the Middle Moselle Museum or Buddha Museum invite you to visit.

Now it's up to you to decide whether you want to stay in Traben-Trarbach and then return by boat, or whether you want to extend your bike tour a little longer. You can cycle another 20 kilometers via the wine village of Reil; you can cycle another 40 kilometers to Zell (Mosel) and from there back to Traben-Trarbach to start the return journey to the starting point a little later. Alternatively, you can also cycle upstream on the left side of the Moselle to Bernkastel-Kues.
