The 300-metre course on Bruttiger Berg focuses on the life of the bee, the peculiarities of its social life, the origins and composition of the various bee products.
As part of their environmental education efforts, the Beekeepers' Association of Cochem and the surrounding area, in cooperation with the local municipality of Bruttig-Fankel, have set up a themed trail with information on beekeeping and bee products.
On the six explanatory panels, you are sure to learn a lot of news about the honey bee as well as beekeeping work. The theme trail is complemented by a station with wild bee nesting aids. Here you can observe the life and breeding of various native wild bee and ichneumon wasp species on the spot. The highlight is a so-called block hive. Here, through a pane of glass - protected against stings - a bee colony can be observed in its hidden life in the tree cavity.
