"On the trail of nature" offers every nature lover, hiker and knowledge-hungry person a varied hike on the theme trail of the Lösnich community.Along the theme trail you will find numerous boards which explain topics about the "wonder of nature". These are divided into the habitat element "earth", the habitat element "air" and the habitat element "water". The snail Lotta accompanies the hiking tour and gives important information along the way. However, you are also encouraged to join in at the information boards during the hike. Thoughts, knowledge and imagination are needed to discover some of the secrets of nature. Furthermore, the theme trail includes the "Schnääle-Quiz": 10 questions on the subject of nature want to be solved. The solutions can be found in the showcase of the Lösnich Tourist Information Office (Gestade, on the banks of the Moselle).

General information

Directions

The Lösnich theme trail "On the trail of nature" takes you around the wine village Lösnich in the direction of Kindel, past wooded slopes and through vineyards. From the car park at the Lösnich community centre, the trail leads you with the "Lotta" snail along the element "earth" via the Lösnich refuge and the Jewish cemetery up into the forest to the Kaisergarten rest stop. Along the outskirts of the village you will reach the Lösnich forest via vineyard paths. The element "air" leads you on corridor and hiking trails over the "Kietz". At the information boards on this section of the trail you can explore air singing, cloud pictures and sundials. Turning left, the path takes you further through the forest towards Kluckertquelle. This spring supplied the villages Lösnich, Kinheim and Kindel with water until 1995. From this old water house you follow the traces of the element "water", the meanders of the Kluckertquelle, up to the small refuge above the wine village Kindel. Up to the next one, the Kindeler Römerhütte, you walk very idyllically on hiking trails towards the vineyards.  From the crossroads there you follow the winding vineyard paths over the well-known excavation of the "Sucellus". From the Kluckertbrunnen you have reached the centre of Lösnich again. Turning right towards the banks of the Moselle, you will find the local tourist information in the Alber Simon / Villa Simon winery. This is where the quiz is solved. Walk through the historic Moselle village, past the Catholic parish church of St. Vitus back to the starting point at the Bürgerhaus.
