The almost 7-kilometer circular route on Zeltinger Berg can be hiked year-round. Points of interest include the Erdener and Lösnicher Chapel.

The Deutschherrenweg starts from Zeltingen-Rachtig, a wine village on the Moselle. It is an easy circular route through the forest and vineyards above the village. It passes orchards and vineyards including the vineyard sites Himmelreich, Schlossberg, and Sonnenuhr. Along the route, there are only small inclines and many beautiful resting opportunities. Prominently in view is the new Hochmosel bridge B50 new.

Insights into the hiking tour:

Across the meadow at the Bartholomäushütte, the path leads to a small trail that takes you to the uppermost vineyard path at the edge of the valley. Here, hikers are treated to a varied panorama. The Plantert Cross with telescope, the "Three Firs", the Hochmosel bridge, the scout home of the "Deutschherrenstamm", as well as the Erdener and Lösnicher Chapel, are stations of this hike.

There are no opportunities to eat along the hiking route, but "down" by the Moselle in Zeltingen-Rachtig, there are several.

General information

Directions

With a view of the Bartholomäushütte, turn right across the meadow to a small path that leads you to the uppermost vineyard path at the edge of the valley. Above the vineyards of Zeltingen-Rachtig, continue hiking. Along the way, there is the Plantert Cross with a telescope, the "Three Firs" and the scout home of the "Deutschherrenstamm". Here, descend the hairpin bends, continue between vineyards and meadows, and then cross a bridge of the feeder road to the new Hochmosel crossing (B50 new). Before that, you can take a small detour to the left to the Erdener Forest Chapel. The chapel is wonderfully decorated with frescoes and offers nice rest areas. Behind the bridge, walk to a bench, then left down to a small brook. The path then leads you past orchards, vineyards, and meadows to the Lösnicher Chapel. From here, go uphill. From the forest path, a small path branches off to the right after some elevation. Follow this over a small brook. Soon after, continue again on a forest path up to Zeltinger Berg and back over meadows and fields to the starting point of the hike.
