General information

Directions

The route starts in Saarburg and initially leads via Hecking and Graf-Siegfried streets to the B 407. There you ride on a separate bike lane along the B 407 to Trassem. After passing through the town, turn into Leuktalstraße and follow the road along the stream to Kollesleuken. After a short stretch on the L133, shortly before leaving Kollesleuken, turn left onto a country road. After about 2 km, follow the road left again towards Hof Spirkelsbach and from there continue to Faha.

From there, take the Saarland cycle path uphill towards Münzingen. After 1.5 km, cross the B 407 and continue on the Saarland cycle path. After another 2.2 km, cross the B 406 and follow the Saarland cycle path downhill to Butzdorf and Tettingen. Leave Tettingen via Bescher Street and continue cycling to Nennig. In Nennig, first pass through Römerstraße. Here, a detour to the Roman Villa (Römerstraße 11) is worthwhile. There you can see a magnificent mosaic floor, which is one of the most spectacular of its kind north of the Alps. Then continue your bike tour via Römerstraße and Martinusstraße. At the end of Martinusstraße, turn left into Berger Weg and after about 150 m right into Wieser Straße. At the end of the street, follow the B 419 to the roundabout. Take the second exit towards Remich (Lux). After about 300 m, turn right at Camping Mosella Rothaus and follow the cycle path to the Moselle.

From the Moselle bank in Nennig, the route continues on the Mosel cycle path to Konz. The Mosel cycle path was rated for the first time in 2024 by the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC) and officially awarded as a four-star quality cycle route by the ADFC. On this section, you pass idyllic wine villages such as Palzem, Wehr, Wincheringen, Nittel, Wellen, Temmels, Oberbillig, and Wasserliesch. You always have the neighboring country Luxembourg and the vineyards in view. Upon arrival in Konz, the resting place at the Saar estuary invites you to a comfortable break.

Continue on the right side of the Saar via the Saar cycle path to Saarburg. On this section, you cycle on flat terrain along the river past the towns of Könen and Biebelhausen to the destination Saarburg. On this route, you pass famous Saar vineyards and enjoy the view of the sea of vines.

Alternatively, you can also cycle from Konz on the left side of the Saar. After the towns of Filzen and Hamm, you reach Kanzem and cycle a stretch along the Saar oxbow. From Kanzem, you can either follow the oxbow towards Wiltingen or cycle towards the Kanzem weir and further on the Saar path to Schoden and via Ockfen to your destination Saarburg.

E-bike charging stations can be found along the way in:
