The hiking trail "Following Nature's Trail" offers every nature lover, hiker, and knowledge seeker a varied hike around the municipality of Lösnich.

Along the themed trail, beautiful views of the wine villages of Lösnich and Kinheim as well as the surrounding meadows and forest landscape await. Numerous boards explain topics on the "miracle of nature." These are divided into the habitat elements "Earth," "Air," and "Water." The snail Lotta accompanies the hiking tour and provides important hints along the way. However, during the hike, visitors are also encouraged to participate at the information boards. Thoughts, knowledge, and imagination are needed to discover some natural secrets. Furthermore, the themed trail includes the "Snail Quiz": 10 questions about nature to be solved. The answers can be read in the display case at the Lösnich Tourist Information (Gestade, on the Moselle riverbank).

General information

Directions

The Lösnich themed trail "Following Nature's Trail" takes you around the wine village of Lösnich, past forest slopes and through vineyards.

From the parking lot at the Lösnich community center, the hiking trail with the trail snail "Lotta" leads you along the element "Earth" past the Lösnich shelter and the Jewish cemetery up into the forest to the Kaisergarten rest area. Along the edge of the village, you reach the Lösnich forest via vineyard paths. The element "Air" leads you on field and hiking paths over the "Kietz." At the information boards on this section, you explore air song, cloud images, and sundials. Turning left, the path continues through the forest towards the Kluckert spring. This spring supplied the villages of Lösnich, Kinheim, and Kindel with water until 1995. From this old waterhouse, you follow the traces of the element "Water," the meanders of the Kluckert spring, up to the small shelter above the wine village of Kindel. To the next, the Kindel Roman hut, you hike very idyllically on hiking paths towards the vineyards. From the crossroads there, follow the meanders of the vineyard paths past the well-known excavation of "Sucellus." From the Kluckert spring, you have reached the center of Lösnich again. Through the historic Moselle village, walk past the Catholic parish church of St. Vitus back to the starting point at the community center.
