Relaxed hiking circular route with wonderful views of the Mosel and Dhron valley with options to stop at a riding stable or the Rauchfang restaurant at the start or end of the route (cd).

The ridge route begins and ends at one of the most spectacular views of the Mosel valley, the Zummethöhe: the Mosel winds in a wide bend around the wine village of Trittenheim with its well-known vineyards “Apotheke” and “Altärchen”, a Mosel loop straight out of a picture book! The route also offers repeated views into the “Dhrönchen” (valley of the “small” Dhron), where the writer Stefan Andres was born. It passes horse pastures to the riding stable “Hof Kron” with a place to refresh yourself in the “Reiterstube”. No steep ascents need to be overcome on this circular route (cd).

New: Hiking map 1 : 25 000 Holiday region Schweich on the Roman Wine Road

ISBN: 978-3-944620-13-8.

Schweich (Mosel). With the newest MOSEL hiking map titled “ Holiday region Schweich on the Roman Wine Road ”, the Eifel Club extends its series of hiking maps on the Mosel with the now fourth map at a scale of
1 : 25 000. This series of hiking maps, which the Eifel Club publishes in cooperation with Mosellandtouristik and the tourist information offices of the affected municipalities, will complete the Eifel Club’s map series after finishing all MOSEL hiking maps with the Mosel route in the southeast.

Despite the extensive hiking and leisure options shown on the map, the Moselsteig stages 5, 6, 7, and 8 along with the five side routes “Longuicher Sauerbrunnen”, “Zitronenkrämerkreuz”, “Mehringer Schweiz”, “Klüsserather Sagenweg” as well as “Moselachter” form the core of this new hiking map. In particular, the four Moselsteig stages and the five side routes are not only described bilingually in the inner part of the hiking map but also include indications of the difficulty level of the hike with each elevation profile displayed.

The basis of this detailed hiking map is the Official Topographic Map 1 : 25 000 from the State Office for Surveying and Geobasis Information Rhineland-Palatinate. The map costs a uniform price of 7.90 EUR and is available at the Tourist Information Roman Wine Road, Brückenstraße 46, 54338 Schweich, at Mosellandtouristik, and in bookstores as well as, naturally, from the Eifel Club e. V., Stürtzstraße 2 - 6 in 52349 Düren. The map can also be ordered online around the clock via the internet at www.eifelverein.de . ISBN: 978-3-944620-13-8.
