The route is 9.7 km long and can be classified as easy to moderately difficult. Including breaks, you should plan for just under 4 hours. In the first kilometers up to Sang, a somewhat longer ascent must be overcome. From Sang-Neuhaus, you walk through a flat area of the Longuich forest to a small dead-end path that leads down to the Longuich Sauerbrunnen. On a firm forest path, you pass through the last forest section of the route to march through a vineyard path and under a motorway underpass towards the Villa Urbana near Longuich. Along a very beautifully laid out path through the Longuich industrial area, the route goes through the Moselle communities of Longuich and Kirsch back to the start and finish point of the Villa Urbana tour. The path is signposted with “R 11”.

Tip
Sauerbrunnen Longuich → This spring, which is said to be fed by the Devonian layers of the Hochwald, provides a highly iron-rich mineral water. The reddish coloration caused by iron oxide is unmistakable in the area around the spring.
Villa Urbana Longuich → In the course of land consolidation, the Rhineland State Museum Trier cut into the eastern side wing of an originally approximately 110 meters wide and 28 meters deep Villa Urbana in 1984. The protective structure, which only partially corresponds to the volume of the former side wing and was built on the ancient walls, exclusively houses the extensive remains of the former bathing facility. Remains of painted wall plaster, marble coverings, and glass mosaics suggest a high-quality furnishing of the palace-like villa.

New: Hiking Map 1 : 25,000 Holiday Region Schweich on the Roman Wine Road
ISBN: 978-3-944620-13-8.
Schweich (Moselle). With the latest MOSEL hiking map titled “Holiday Region Schweich on the Roman Wine Road,” the Eifelverein expands its series of hiking maps on the Moselle with the now fourth hiking map at a scale of
1 : 25,000. This hiking map series, which the Eifelverein publishes in cooperation with Moselland Tourism and the tourist information offices of the affected municipalities, will complete the Eifelverein's map series after the completion of all MOSEL hiking maps with the Mosel course in the southeast.
The new hiking map replaces the previously issued and now outdated map “Neumagen-Dhron, Schweich on the Roman Wine Road” from the State Office for Surveying and Geoinformation Rhineland-Palatinate with a slightly altered map section. With the new hiking map, hikers will be reliably guided on hiking tours in the holiday region Schweich along Moselsteig, Saar-Hunsrück-Steig, side routes and dream loops. The Meulenwald hiking area is also depicted on the map.
With Moselsteig and Saar-Hunsrück-Steig, two long-distance trails awarded as “Germany's most beautiful hiking trails” lead through the holiday region Schweich on the Roman Wine Road. Not only with the connected circular hiking trails labeled “side route” and “dream loop” does the holiday region Schweich on the Roman Wine Road form an extensive and varied network of hiking trails. This network is complemented by sections of the Eifelsteig, including two partner trails, the Moselhöhenweg, additional main hiking routes of the Eifelverein, and numerous regional hiking trails also included on the new map. Selected cycling routes as well as five mountain bike tours along the Roman Wine Road are also depicted on the map.
Despite the extensive hiking and leisure offerings shown on the map, the Moselsteig stages 5, 6, 7 and 8 as well as the five side routes “Longuicher Sauerbrunnen,” “Zitronenkrämerkreuz,” “Mehringer Schweiz,” “Klüsserather Sagenweg” and “Moselachter” form the core of this new hiking map. Especially the four Moselsteig stages and the five side routes are described bilingually not only textually in the inner part of the hiking map, but also feature height profile illustrations with information about the difficulty level of the hike.
The basis for this detailed hiking map is the official topographic map 1 : 25,000 from the State Office for Surveying and Geoinformation Rhineland-Palatinate. The map costs a uniform price of 7.90 EUR and is available at the Tourist Information Roman Wine Road, Brückenstraße 46, 54338 Schweich, at Moselland Tourism and in bookstores, as well as, of course, through the Eifelverein e. V., Stürtzstraße 2 - 6 in 52349 Düren. The map can also be ordered online around the clock via the internet at www.eifelverein.de . ISBN: 978-3-944620-13-8.
