Historic buildings and world-famous vineyards in the Zellerland

The stage starts at the marketplace in Zell on the Mosel, in the midst of the famous vineyard "Zeller Schwarze Katz". It is worth taking a detour to the Wine and Homeland Museum of the town of Zell (Mosel). () .

From Zell, the journey goes upriver along the Mosel towards Traben-Trarbach. Numerous romantic wine towns invite you to stop for a break and rest. Along the wine town of Briedel and the vineyard "Briedeler Herzchen", the cycle path runs directly along the Mosel continuing to Pünderich. The historic town center of Pünderich, with its lovingly restored half-timbered houses, provides the perfect setting for a rest. The towns of Burg and Enkirch follow, with the Heimat-Stuben Museum (https://www.enkirch.de/tourismus-und-kultur/geschichte/heimatstuben/) and elegantly restored half-timbered buildings.

The Art Nouveau town of Traben-Trarbach has a lot to offer. High above the town towers the Grevenburg castle ruins, and numerous architectural masterpieces of Art Nouveau and the Belle Époque can be admired. Cultural-historical experiences are offered by the museum row (including the Middle Mosel Museum, Buddha Museum) and on a guided tour through the mystical half-darkness of the Traben-Trarbach underworld, participants embark on an exciting discovery journey.

Continuing towards Bernkastel-Kues, many small typical Mosel villages follow, inviting you to rest and linger. Before the entrance to Zeltingen-Rachtig, the sundial built in 1620 impresses in the middle of the vineyards, which gives the vineyard "Zeltinger Sonnenuhr" its name. A detour through the town center with its old estates and half-timbered houses is worthwhile. Opposite Rachtig lies the former Cistercian nunnery Machern, within whose walls today are, among other things, a museum, a wine cabinet and a monastery brewery with a taproom.

The destination of the stage is the medieval town of Bernkastel-Kues with its romantic alleys and impressive half-timbered houses and the looming Landshut castle above it.
