Views, views, views!

This is the best way to describe the latest cycle tour in the portfolio of the Bernkastel-Kues cycle touring country. For example to the famous pilgrimage church in Klausen. This gem is without equal. Or to the oldest wine village on the Moselle, Neumagen-Dhron. Famous not only for its wines, but also for its Roman heritage. How about a boat trip on the Roman wine ship "Stella Noviomagi". And if you are looking for something more, you will get your money's worth. On the cycle path, you will pass a take-off point for hang-gliders - only cycling is more beautiful ...!

General information

Directions

The "Moselle cycle tour to marvel" starts in the winegrowing village of Lieser. From here it goes through the glacial valley, through which the Moselle once flowed more than 10,000 years ago, towards Maring-Noviand. The path is lined with green meadows and forests. At the top of the vineyards you can see the Paulskirche, one of the oldest churches in the region. On your journey through the Urstromtal valley, you first reach the district of Maring and continue on to the Siebenborn monastery farm. This is the perfect place for a short rest and refreshment. The tour continues through the district of Noviand with the parish church of St. Lambertus. Over the ridge of the Brauneberg you will then reach Osann-Monzel. Along the outskirts of Monzel you have a wonderful view of the Moselle valley and the municipality of Kesten. You cross the village of Monzel and drive past woods, meadows and vineyards towards Klausen. Here it is worth making a detour to the famous pilgrimage church "Maria Heimsuchung". It is visited by over 100,000 pilgrims every year. Afterwards you continue through the forest until you meet vineyards again. You will circle the ridge and come out above the wine village Neumagen-Dhron at the take-off point for hang-gliders. From here you have a great panoramic view of the Moselle valley. Would you like to enjoy even more views? Then we recommend a detour to the vantage point "Großer Moselblick". You continue along the Moselle panorama road above the vineyards and will now be accompanied by a wonderful view of the Moselle valley for the next while. You can see the beautiful Moselle bend with the famous Moselloreley as well as the various parts of the municipality of Piesport. Then turn left again into the vineyards and drive along vineyard paths towards Kesten. Passing the Moselle community, the route goes uphill and then along the Brauneberg back to the starting point in Lieser.
