The beginner route for mountain bikers! The route leads from Saarburg to the wine village of Serrig, then to the high plateau at Kastel-Staadt, and back over Kruterberg to Saarburg.

The mountain bike route takes you from Saarburg over the Old Town Bridge to the right bank of the Saar through the Kammer Forest to Serrig. A short section on the Saar Cycle Path leads you to the weir. After crossing the Saar, it goes uphill to Kastel-Staadt and then through the forest area downhill again over Kruterberg back to Saarburg.

Important note on the bike route proposal:

This route proposal runs along different cycle paths in the region. There is no uniform signage on the route.

Getting there

You can reach Saarburg via the B51 or B407. The start and finish of the route is in the town center at the Town Hall on Graf-Siegfried-Straße.

Parking

Free parking is available at the city parking lot and near the swimming pool.

Further paid parking spaces are available in the city center.

Public transit

DB route Trier - Saarbrücken to Saarburg station.
