Insight into the hiking tour:
The varied panorama trail of Mülheim leads through the vineyards as well as through forest passages. It offers great views: of the former county and the vineyard "Sonnenlay" - by the way, the most consumed wine of all the Atlantic flights of the Zeppelin. A worthwhile side trip along the route is the "Elisenhäuschen" in the vineyars of Mülheim. The little cottage is surrounded by a legend whose main actor is Napoleon. Napoleon Bonaparte set up his camp not far from Mülheim in 1813 on his retreat after the lost battle in Leipzig. After a night of drinking through, one of the soldiers harassed a winemaker's wife, whose husband then killed the Frenchman. Napoleon ordered that the husband be extradited, otherwise the village would be burned. In this situation a citizen of Mülheim offered 3000 Taler as retaliation and thus saved his village. As a thank you he received a valuable piece of land from the community on which he planted a vineyard and named it "Luisenweinberg". The vernacular quickly turned it into the "Elisenberg".

The starting point of this tour is the hikers' parking area next to the fire station in the centre of Mülheim. From the fire station it leads you left uphill a path through the residential area, after 200 m this path turns right and leads you out of the village. At the end of the residential area you will reach the vineyards through an underpass on the road B 53. On the vineyard paths you can enjoy an impressive view over the vineyards and the Moselle. The path continues straight on, where it leads you to the Andel forest. In the forest you leave the forest path at the fork, parallel to the Goldbach. Following the forest path to the left, you will return to the Mülheim vineyards after a while. The legendary "Elisenhäuschen" is enthroned on the left above these mountains and is well worth a detour.After a short detour to this cottage, another highlight awaits you in the serpentines of the vineyard paths: from the vineyard "Veldenzer Kirchberg", where the hiking trail "Grafen, Gold und Schwarzer Peter" crosses, you have a breathtaking view over the Moselle valley.
