An easy round route high above the Moselle village of Piesport, ideal for anyone looking for a short hike.
Wonderful views of the Moselle Valley and the Eifel await on this hike above the Moselle village of Piesport. Mainly over agricultural and forest paths, the trail leads through the cultural landscape around the Piesporter Berg.
Insights into the hiking route:
No worries – you do not have to climb the Piesporter Berg with its many switchbacks! On the approx. five-kilometer-long circular hiking trail, you walk for a good hour. Initially, there are hardly any altitude differences to overcome on the agricultural path. Peeking through the edge of the forest, magnificent views open up of the Piesporter Moselle loop. But you can also look far into the Eifel. After sections through the forest, shortly before the end of the tour, there is a place to stop at the Hotel Moselpanorama. Here you can refresh yourself and prepare for the ascent, which leads back over the wayside cross past the Spoar Chapel to the starting point.
Besides the mentioned place to eat, there are other establishments along the Moselle in Piesport.
