Cyclists' short visit to the Mosel Eifel - along the river course through meadow valleys and historic places.

The Salm winds almost exclusively through the area of the Mosel Eifel from the Himmerod Monastery to its mouth in the Mosel near Klüsserath. The Salm cycle path creates the connection between the Maare-Mosel cycle route near Wittlich and the Mosel cycle route in Klüsserath. It passes through the geological formation of the "Wittlich Basin" and partially uses the Wittlich Basin cycle path. Further, it follows the Salm valley to Klüsserath, past fields and meadows and from Rivenich through the vineyards of the Mosel region. It opens up as a route of rural culture the castle in Dreis, remarkable churches and mills, farmhouses in the style of the Trier Einhaus and other regional special features such as representative vintner estates in the wine region.
