A varied e-bike circular route: Section Rhein-Mosel-Eifel cycle path | Mosel cycle path | Rhein cycle path: Rhens - Waldesch - Lower Mosel - Hunsrück Heights - Boppard - Rhens Start also possible in Waldesch, at the Lower Mosel and Boppard. The cycling route is not specially signposted. Use GPS navigation and at the beginning follow the themed route Rhein-Mosel-Eifel cycle path to the Mosel. Then follow the cycle path signs with green writing on a white background towards Pfaffenheck | Boppard-Buchholz | Boppard | Rhens.

The cycling route leads on the Rhein-Mosel-Eifel cycle path uphill through the varied landscape to Waldesch. Once arrived at the Hunsrück Heights, it continues following the Rhein-Mosel-Eifel cycle path to the Lower Mosel. From there you cycle along the Mosel to Niederfell.

From Niederfell it goes with a steady ascent back up to the Hunsrück Heights to Pfaffenheck.
On agricultural paths it goes to Boppard-Buchholz. From here it goes downhill again to the Rhine, where you get back to Rhens on the Rhein cycle path.

Safety Guidelines

We recommend a bicycle helmet.

  • Be considerate of other road users.

  • Despite all the idyll - pay close attention to traffic in some places.

  • Always move at a controlled speed to be able to avoid any obstacles in good time.

  • In case of an accident call 112 and give your location.


Please note that the section of the Rhein-Mosel-Eifel cycle path and from Boppard-Buchholz to Boppard is a gravel path.

Equipment

Well equipped for the route you are with:

 

- Weather-appropriate cycling clothing, possibly in multi-layer principle

- Bicycle helmet

- Enough to drink and possibly some provisions

- Depending on the weather, sun or rain protection, as well as mosquito/tick protection

- A navigation device/phone for route overview. (The cycling route is not specially signposted. Use GPS navigation and follow the cycle path signs with green writing on a white background.)

Regular service RB 26 Koblenz – Mainz, several times daily

 

Bicycle transport in the VRM area is free from Monday to Friday after 9 a.m., all day on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Taking bicycles depends on space available in the vehicles. Before 9 a.m., bicycle transport is chargeable.
