2018 - 2nd place in Germany's most beautiful hiking route! On four stages, hikers experience how the small stream Lieser develops into a river. Far away from everyday stress and traffic noise, you can enjoy the invigorating power of nature.

Before you set off…

It occasionally happens that sections of trails need to be temporarily rerouted or closed. Simply check https://www.gesundland-vulkaneifel.de/info/wege-info/.

!!! ATTENTION !!! Detour !!!

Due to a landslide on the Lieser near Maring (at the pedestrian bridge level) a detour is currently in place for the Lieserpfad in this section.

Further information can be found here.

Hikers can accompany the Lieserpfad from the marsh-surrounded source near Boxberg to the mouth into the Moselle at the town of the same name, Lieser. On four stages, they experience how the water has powerfully created a path through the volcanic landscape. Maars, castles and mills line the roadside. A beautiful environment!

Benches at peaceful spots repeatedly offer the opportunity to rest tired feet for a while and consume some of the brought provisions. Once the hiker has reached the Moselle, they can proudly look back on a total distance of 74 kilometers. And perhaps they then agree with Manuel Andrack, who in one of his books hailed the Lieserpfad as the 'most beautiful hiking trail in the world' with a smile on their face.
