Enjoyable route with many beautiful views of the Moselle and the vineyards. The winegrowing villages of Reil, Burg/ Mosel, and Enkirch invite you to linger and explore.

Without much effort, a beautiful part of the Moselle can be cycled here. Except for one ascent, the route is flat along the Moselle. A special highlight is the ferry crossing from Enkirch to Kövenig.

General information

Directions

From the Tourist Information, you ride leisurely along the water always following the bike path to Kövenig. A short stop at the harbor is certainly worthwhile. After Kövenig, continue on the K65 to Reil. Here you can take your first break and enjoy the view of the Moselle. Then you change sides of the Moselle and head in the opposite direction towards the town of Burg/ Mosel. There you enter the town. Many inns invite you to take a break here, and in nice weather you should definitely visit the water treading basin in the middle of the vineyards. Now a bit of stamina is required; from the town center, you ride uphill until you reach Enkirch Street. Following the street, you will automatically arrive in Enkirch. In this old half-timbered village, there is much to discover, best done on the Gässchenrundweg. Here too, numerous wine taverns and restaurants invite you to linger.

You get a completely different perspective of the Moselle afterwards with the crossing by the passenger ferry to Kövenig. From here, you return on the bike path back to Traben-Trarbach. At the weir, you can stop and go to the visitor viewing platform.
