Our holiday winery is located on the periphery of the village Leiwen and offers the best condition for an unforgettable stay in the region of the river Moselle.

We, the winemaker family Scholtes, live and work since three Generations on our holiday winery. On about 7 hectares we produce our wines of the grape variety "Riesling" and "Pinot Noir". You are welcome to taste in our wine parlour every delicacies our cellar offers. After a visit to the cellar you will defintively find your favorite wine in a wine stasting with specialities from the region "Moselle".

A magnificient view offers the viewer from the wooded heights on one of the most beautiful loops of the river Moselle, to which the old and traditional wine village Leiwen clings in perfect harmony. Is it any wonder that this unique location between steep slopes, winding rivers and extensive winyards, combined with an unsually mild climate, atrracted Celts, Romans and Franks at an early ages? The long tradition of the wine-growing village of Leiwen goes without doubt back to the Romans, who gave the place ist name and left the wine as a legacy. The first documentary mention of the place was in 633 AD.

In today's Leiwen, tradition and progress entered into a pleasant synthesis; old, romatic farcades and modern, neat houses characterize the unmistacable townscape. Multiple awards at many village competitions and the recogniton as a "state-approved recreation village" testify the village's beauty. A balanced and extensive leisure offer makes Leiwen to one the most popular holiday destinations in the region of the river Moselle.
