The Moselle and Treis-Karden railway station (train connections to Koblenz and Trier) are just a few minutes away by car. The nearest motorway (A 48) and shopping facilities can be reached in around 10 minutes. Highlights such as Eltz Castle, Cochem and Pyrmont Castle, the Eifler Maare, the Geierlay suspension rope bridge, Lake Laach, Genoveva Castle in Mayen or the castles in Manderscheid.

Koblenz with the Deutsches Eck, Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and the lively city centre can be reached via the panoramic route along the Moselle in around 45 minutes (approx. 30 minutes via motorway) by car or train from Treis-Karden. Germany's oldest city, Trier, can be reached in around 1 hour. Forst (Eifel) is located between Koblenz, Cochem, the Nürburgring and Daun in the Vordereifel. Forst has around 400 inhabitants and is the centre of the so-called ‘Forster Kirchspiel’, a former parish and court district. Today it belongs to the Kaisersesch association municipality and the district of Cochem-Zell.
