Ferienwohnung Waldeck

I would be happy to welcome you to my Waldeck holiday apartment, which was completely renovated and furnished to a high standard in winter 2023/2024 and leaves no wishes unfulfilled for any holiday guest, whether small or large.

Located right on the edge of the forest, you can relax on one of the terraces in the large garden, which are equipped with seating areas and loungers. It is also possible to grill with a gas or electric grill, as well as to prepare your grilled food on the “Schwenker” – truly Saarland.
Children can play in the garden and on the adjacent meadow, although the trampoline and swings are part of the house and can of course be used. You are welcome to bring a small pet with you by prior arrangement. There is also a parking space for cars and bicycles or motorcycles can be stored in the garage. The apartment is accessible via a separate entrance behind the house and is completely separated from the rest of the private living space.

Whether you want to explore the beautiful northern Saarland by bike, explore one of the many signposted hiking trails or start the day with a run in nature, the best conditions for this are right on your doorstep.

There are countless opportunities in the area to make your stay an entertaining and beautiful experience with excursions and other activities:

In town, just a few minutes' walk away, you can visit the Pintaloosa alpacas or book an alpaca hike, an alpaca breakfast or a photo shoot with the alpacas in advance. Small guests in particular will be thrilled by this.

The "Stausee Losheim" with its beautiful sandbeach and large water playground for the little ones is 4.4 km away. In the summer months, a number of concerts and events take place here, attracting guests from near and far. If the weather is bad, you will find bathing and swimming opportunities in the indoor swimming pool “Vitalis” in Weiskirchen, 4.8 km away, and “Das Bad” in Merzig is 18 km from Ferienwohnung Waldeck. In Merzig there is the opportunity to go shopping in many different shops in the city center or visit other excursion destinations such as the Maisalm, the Trampolini or the climbing park.

For shopping enthusiasts, it is also worth taking a trip to Saarbrücken (45 minutes by car), to Saarlouis (28 minutes by car) or to the neighboring Rheinland-Pfalz to Trier (40 minutes by car), the oldest city in Germany, where the Romans made their home have left traces. Tourist attractions there include the Roman Imperial Baths, the Trier Cathedral, the Porta Nigra and the Rheinisches Landesmuseum. The large, spacious pedestrian zone with the beautiful cobblestones is definitely worth a visit.
The Zweibrücken outlet center, 75 km away, offers 120 premium brands in countless stores and often offers Sunday shopping or late night shopping in the summer months.

Saarschleife treetop path in Mettlach, the Saarschleife adventure forest, Saarburg shopping and restaurants around the waterfall, Saarburg bird of prey park, Saarburg summer toboggan run, Hermeskeil fire brigade adventure museum, the Bostalsee and the Petersberg in Nonnweiler, the Schaumberg adventure pool, the Weiskichen wildlife and hiking park with climbing park, in Schiffweiler Gondwana-The Praehistorium (natural history experience museum), in Ensdorf the Saarpoligon

A visit to neighboring Luxembourg or France is also possible. For children and adults alike, a visit to the Zoo d'Amnéville, located 72 km away in France with an area of 16 hectares and which offers a home to around 2000 animals, is very nice. Or visit the zoo and fairytale park "Parc Merveilleux" in neighboring Luxembourg in Bettembourg, 61 km from the Waldeck holiday apartment. Both excursion destinations fill the day and food and drinks can be prepared in the holiday apartment to take away.

No matter what leisure activity you choose, rest assured that you will find places and restaurants everywhere where you can find space and be welcome to eat, drink and enjoy.

To Sel For supplies in the holiday apartment you will find various bakeries, butchers and several grocery stores such as Globus, Rewe, Aldi, Lidl, Netto and Wasgau in the surrounding area. Bus services in the direction of Weiskirchen/Wadern or Losheim/Merzig run almost every hour in both directions. From Merzig you can also use the train in the direction of Saarlouis/Saarbrücken or in the direction of Trier.
