Gold miner's fountain

The fountain is located in close proximity to the church in Andel. It was designed by the Kues artist Bernd Wendhut in 1986. This fountain commemorates the time when gold was sought in Andel. Because in the Andel stream, which was thereafter called the Andeler Goldbach, there were some gold finds in the 18th and 19th centuries. Even in the middle of the 20th century, some gold nuggets were reportedly still found.
