AUTHOR FOODISTAS: Some events have a long tradition and this includes the “Mythos Mosel” which takes place every year. And as holidays at home are becoming increasingly relevant, you can turn this event into an experience-rich short break with plenty of variety, which brings the Mosel closer in a wonderful way and lets you discover new aspects time and time again.

Mythos Mosel is a vintage tasting event that includes a significant number of winemakers always taking place the weekend after Pentecost. There are three sections of the Mosel, about 20km long, which alternate as locations on a rotational basis:

  • Detzem to Wintrich (2025)
  • Kesten to Zeltingen (2026)
  • Ürzig to Briedel (2024)

The hosts invite you to taste Mosel wines in a relaxed atmosphere at their wineries, which are located between the section. On these days, you not only have the opportunity to taste the wines of the winemakers and guest winemakers, but also to take a closer look at the wineries and their special features. There’s nothing better than watching a winemaker at work in their cellar and following this up with a look at the best Mosel vineyards. Because there is so much more to a good glass of wine, especially the manual work and years of experience involved. So you are taken along on the journey and immersed in the world of wine. Thanks to a balanced mix of experienced winemakers and newcomers, you will also discover new wine favourites that you will want to enjoy at home!

Hop-on, Hop-off shuttle buses will leisurely take you from winery to winery and in the evening you can round off an eventful day with food, drink and good music at one of the many winery events. But the various Mythos Mosel stops are also easily reached by bike and the best views of the beautiful wine region’s diverse landscape accompany you as you ride.

You can let yourself drift along for the entire weekend, where enjoyment in a relaxed atmosphere is top priority. As well as this, you will also get to know the different locations along the Mosel in a completely different way and, because Mythos Mosel always takes place at different locations, the event is never dull.

Young and old come together here, enjoy the unparalleled Mosel wines and new releases, buy to fill their wine racks and return home with plenty of wonderful memories of their holidays. What could be better?

And by the way, many of the wineries offer excellent overnight accommodation and breakfast to enjoy on your short break along the Mosel. Plus, there are also plenty of restaurants to choose from, waiting to indulge you with their specialities.
