SaarRieslingSommer

A wine tour along the Saar

Serrig, Saarburg, Ockfen, Ayl, Wiltingen, Kanzem - world-famous wine towns are lined up on the lower reaches of the Saar. The steep slopes are densely overgrown with Riesling vines. Around 800 hectares of vineyards are cultivated on the Saar. The most important grape variety is Riesling. Riesling wines from the Saar river are among the most desired and most expensive white wines in the world.

A trip to the region south of Trier at the end of August can be perfectly combined with a casual visit to historic wineries and modern vinotheques.

The "SaarRieslingSommer" event provides a wonderful opportunity to enjoy top-class wines locally at the winemakers in one of the most beautiful wine-growing landscapes and to learn directly from the producer how they are produced. There are numerous guest winemakers from the German and Luxembourg Mosel and other German and international top-quality wine growing regions will be present.

Visitors will have the opportunity to taste the wines of 46 wineries along 20 kilometers along the Saar, from Mosel to Franconia, from Saar to South Tyrol, from Ruwer to Portugal.
