Wintry cinnamon roast

Ingredients to serve 4:

Ansicht auf einen Winterlicher Zimtbraten.
  • 1 kg roasting pork (neck)
  • Salt, pepper
  • 50 g lard
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 l meat stock
  • 1/4 l semi-dry Rotling wine or off-dry white wine
  • 2 bunches of greens
  • 2 bay leaves
  • A little nutmeg
  • 1 slice of multi grain bread


Season the meat with salt and pepper and brown on all sides in the lard. Using a knife, brush the meat with the honey and onions then sprinkle well with cinnamon. Add the stock and wine. Add the cleaned and chopped greens to the meat together with the whole bay leaves and a little nutmeg. Let the dish braise on a low heat for approx. 1 hour. Add the diced bread for the last half hour; season with salt and pepper if needed. Thicken the finished sauce a little if necessary. Enjoy your meal!

Side dish
Potato dumplings, bread dumplings or boiled potatoes.
