Winery with family tradition

The von Nell family has been involved in viticulture for more than 350 years. Dr. Carmen von Nell-Breuning took over the Dominican winery in Kasel in 2013 from her parents, continuing the family's winemaking tradition into the 11th generation. On 7 hectares of steep slopes, with the Kaseler Dominikanerberg as a monopole site, the family cultivates Riesling and Spätburgunder. Since 2019, the winery has been working holistically according to biodynamic principles. As the oldest sparkling wine manufacturer in the Ruwertal, the winery also offers elegant Riesling sparkling wines, which are produced and aged in traditional bottle fermentation with several years of yeast storage in the deep vaulted cellar.

Wine tastings by appointment for 5 to 60 people (also available in English, Spanish, and French)

Best locations: Kaseler Dominikanerberg, Kaseler Nies´chen

Awards: Eichelmann, State Honor Award of Rhineland-Palatinate
