Hermann Schneider Winery

The winery offers not only delicious wines but also sparkling wines and spirits, all produced on the premises. This means taking care of the plant from cultivation to harvest, bottling, and marketing. The wines of the Schneider winery are influenced by the marl soils of the Upper Moselle. Geologically, these soils are part of the foothills of the Paris Basin.

Through whole grape pressing for Elbling, destemming for Burgundy wines, and the development of Mosel-typical red wine varieties, the winery strives to maintain traditional wine production.

The main location of the winery is the Burg Warsberg. Here, depending on slope and sun exposure, individual grape varieties find optimal growing sites. The operation also has additional areas in the neighboring village of Wehr. With the vineyard areas in Luxembourg, the winery embodies the European idea around Schengen in the tri-border region.

The winery offers tastings in their tasting room for both individuals and groups of up to 70 people. Those interested in vineyard tours and events revolving around wine are also in the right place here.

The base for the sparkling wines of the Schneider winery is stored on the lees for at least 9 months. Since 1994, the winery has also operated a distillery on its own. Local fruit varieties serve as the basis for the distillates. With liqueurs, apple wine, and apple juice, they serve to preserve the traditional cultural landscape of Upper Moselle.
