Ludger Veit Winery and Vinotheque

Our winery is located in the heart of the Moselle, in the village of Osann-Monzel. Here we live and work as a family, with and for the wine. Our winery does not have a long tradition and history. Although wine already played a role for our ancestors, viticulture was only practised as a sideline at that time. So Ludger Veit took over the winery from his father in 1984 at the young age of 19. Determined, highly motivated and with many ideas in mind, he set to work. His family supported him energetically.

Over the years, we gradually put these, sometimes unconventional, ideas into practice. We bought vineyards in the best locations, planted new grape varieties, created storage space, and and and ... . Today, we grow the grapes for our wines on an area of 14 hectares. Passion for wine, determination and enthusiasm characterise our actions and thinking. Our goal is always in focus: QUALITY.

The Moselle is world-famous for Riesling, but Ludger's love of experimentation showed early on that other grape varieties can also produce great wines. Therefore, in addition to Riesling, many different grape varieties grow in our vineyards, some of them international, such as Weisser Burgunder, Chardonnay, Merlot, Gewürztraminer or Sauvignon Blanc. The high proportion of red grape varieties in our vineyards is particularly characteristic of our winery.

Numerous awards speak for the quality of our wines. In 2016, for example, a total of 13 of our wines were awarded the Golden Chamber Prize Coin, and we were able to win two categories at the annual selection tasting.

Visit us to buy wine in our modern vinotheque. In October 2016, the German Wine Institute named it one of the TOP 50 wine shops in Germany. Here you can taste our wines in a unique ambience and get to know us personally. We will be happy to show you where our grapes grow and our wines are vinified.
