In 2006, the career changers, Marion and Alexander Rinke, took over vineyards in a location in the Langsurer Brüderberg, which almost nobody knew at the time. "Im Galgenberg" is the name of the steep, partially terraced area of 3 ha between Igel and Wasserbillig (just before Luxembourg). A previously neglected gem on shell limestone, endowed with great potential. The duo has revived this formerly planted estate with Elbling, completely cleared it, and replanted it primarily with Chardonnay of mostly old Burgundy genetics and a few supplementary varieties (including Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Gewürztraminer). 
Since 2015, the two have also been cultivating some steep slopes along the Saar, again focusing on forgotten great sites. The wine locations on the Saar in Oberemmeler Altenberg, Wiltinger Klosterberg, and Wiltinger Braunfels feature a high presence of old vines, predominantly between 55 and 60 years old. Their genetic diversity, coupled with low yields, guarantees high-quality wines with typical Saar characteristics. The Saar wines from Marion and Alex Rinke (mostly Riesling, but also Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) and the very rare Frühburgunder (Pinot Madeleine/Pinot Noir Précoce)) are characterized by tension, finesse, and elegance. As one of the very few wineries on the Mosel, they cultivate sites on shell limestone and slate. Shell limestone meets slate. Two worlds on the Mosel, each fascinating in its own way.

Our vineyards are managed according to organic principles. We are in the process of converting to organic farming.
We work in the cellar without clarifying agents, enzymes, and other additives.
Our wines need time – a lot of time in the cellar and in the glass.
