In the southwest of the Middle Moselle, located very close to Trier, we cultivate our grapevines at the PROBSTHOF winery and sparkling wine estate. We, master winemaker Manfred, wine experience guide Elisabeth, Christopher, and Raphael Schmitz, run our winery with dedication.
In total, we farm 7.5 hectares of vineyard area in the terrace, steep, and hillside locations of: Mehringer Zellerberg, Longuicher Maximiner Herrenberg, Feller Maximiner Burgberg, and Rioler Römerberg. The wines are characterized by slate weathering soils.
Our range includes 65% Riesling, 15% Rivaner, 15% red wine, Pinot Noir, and Dornfelder, as well as 5% Bacchus. The intentionally low yields lead to good quality.
