Riesling for 8 generations - Pinot Noir for one. Our family has been growing grapes in Winningen since the middle of the 18th century. In 1987 Reiner and Anke Fries took over the farm with 2.3 hectares of vineyards and expanded it bit by bit to today's 9 hectares. As one of the first wineries in the region, they planted the first Pinot Noir in 1986. With son Daniel, the 9th generation has been working in the business since 2019. After an apprenticeship as a winemaker at renowned wineries, a degree in viticulture and positions at Ziereisen in Baden, Lingua Franca in Oregon and Domaine de Montille in Burgundy, he is now responsible for the development of the wines together with his father Reiner.
