Winery Johannes Hallenbach (Wine-tastings to 30 people)
The winery Hallenbach owns vineyards in the best locations of Zell. The vines thrive on the geographically favoured steep slopes of the Moselle, which are interspersed with slate. The Riesling, the noblest white wine variety in the world, forms almost exclusively the basis of these fine wines. The heat-storing, fertile primary slate rock of the Moselle slopes allows only low yields. Some of the vines root up to fifteen metres deep into the rock crevices. Of the 4. 5 hectares of the estate, 1. 5 hectares of the vineyards are located on steep slopes, with almost 70 percent gradient.
