Our winery is located in the middle of the wine village of Trittenheim. Surrounded by vineyards, the place is located on one of the most beautiful loops of the Moselle. The old Roman town of Trier and the well-known medieval Moselle town of Bernkastel are approx. 30 km away. Michael took over the winery, which has been managed by the family for generations, from his father Heribert in 1989. The small winery was enlarged by purchasing more vineyards in the best locations, so that a good 9 hectares are now cultivated in the renowned Trittenheim locations "Trittenheimer Altärchen und Apotheke".

After the harvest, the grapes are carefully separated from the stalks and stems. After 4 - 8 hours of maceration, we pour the grapes onto the wine press and gently press them with a cloth press. The musts sediment for 24 hours. The clear must is stored in stainless steel tanks. The musts ferment slowly at low temperatures in order to preserve the fullness of the aromas of the grapes. The fermentation is monitored daily. Through a long full yeast storage, the dry and semi-dry wines develop the finest mano fruit aromas and form a dense, complex, fine-fruity wine structure. The noble sweet wines retain their natural sweetness. This is how fruity, aromatic and characterful wines are created. After the harvest, the red wines are also separated from the stems and stems and ferment for about 14 days in the temperature-controlled fermentation tank. Aromas, color and the finest tannins unfold in full. After pressing, the red wine is stored in small and large wooden barrels. Our guest house offers you the opportunity to stay overnight so that you can enjoy our wines from the world-famous Trittenheimer Apotheke und Altärchen. During a wine tasting with our fine wines you will surely find pleasure, joy and a wine of your taste. You can expand your knowledge of wine during a tour of the cellar.
