The Milz family has been growing wine in Trittenheim since 1520. The Laurentiushof, the original manor and parent house, is located in the middle of Trittenheim by the church. Some of the cellars were built in 1680, other parts of the building around 1715. In the core, the house and manor cellar have been preserved in the old style and equipped with the most modern facilities of a winery. Large parts of the vineyards of the Knights of Warsberg and the Counts of Hunolstein were acquired in addition to the original property.

Some of the cellars were built in 1680, other parts of the building around 1715. In the core, the house and manor cellar have been preserved in the old style and equipped with the most modern facilities of a winery. The experience of this long time is reflected in the quality of our wines. As a founding member of the VDP, we are also closely rooted in German wine history. Our vinotheque has been located at the intersection of Olkstrasse - Brückenstrasse, two minutes from the original manor house and parent house, since 2015. The vineyards are 90% steep slopes with mostly extreme slopes. This ensures optimal light yield and heat absorption. The slate is the basis of our floors. It is the vines' heat store, thus promoting the quality of the grapes and giving our wines their mineral character, the flavor in the wine. The Riesling vine is first mentioned in a document for the Moselle valley in Trittenheim. The Milz winery is one of the oldest local wineries and more than 90% of the Riesling grapes are grown on our farm. Typical for the Moselle. But what is special are our old vines. 80% of our vines are 35 years and older. Old vines produce substantial wines with great sustainability and durability. The grape yield is naturally reduced. The deep rooting leads to an optimal supply, promotes the absorption of minerals in the grapes and thus increases the quality of the wines. Old vines are the basis for characterful wines with the highest quality standards!
