Our winery, which has now existed for more than 120 years in Dieblich, is currently managed by Ute and Klaus Kries. As a pure family business, we cultivate about 2 hectares of vineyards around Dieblich. The steep vineyards with slate weathering rock are 90% planted with Riesling, the the traditional grape variety of the Mosel. The remaining vineyards are planted in equal parts with Rivaner and Kerner. In the vineyard, as well as in the cellar, quality is as important as working in harmony with nature. We support the natural growth of the vines, through careful, yield-reducing care measures and integrated, environmentally friendly cultivation. During the processing of the grapes and the development of the wines we pay special attention to a gentle pressing and a very slow, temperature-controlled fermentation. This results in wines that excellently reflect the characteristics of each vintage. They are characterized by their purity, strong fruit and a high content of natural fermentation carbonic acid.
