Steep slopes, slate, Riesling – that is Mosel! And right there, at the beautiful Middle Mosel in Leiwen, we cultivate our vineyard. When we took the leap into self-employment a few years ago, there was so much to plan and ponder at the beginning. Many building blocks had to be moved. Many vineyards needed to be revitalized. Many questions upon questions. Today we are thrilled. By our vineyard. By our steep slopes. By our two wine queens. By all the possibilities we now have to create authentic and characterful wines. Contemporary and modern. Without tricks and magic. Riesling, White and Pinot Noir. Wines with an enormous flow of drinkability. Wines that are simply a lot of fun! Wine is made in the vineyard, not in the cellar! That’s why our vineyards are our top priority. We nurture and care for our vineyards, investing a lot of love and attention into the work. That’s why there’s never a dull moment in the vineyard. Jobs like removing vine shoots, leaf thinning, selecting whole bunches, or conducting selective harvesting keep us constantly on our toes. In the cellar, the wines get all the time in the world. Daily pampering, gentle coaxing, and controlled waiting are part of our tasks there. Without tricks and magic, the wines are nurtured thanks to spontaneous fermentation. And every resident of the barrel gets the time it needs to develop its own character. The result is wines that have an enormous flow of drinkability and simply bring joy and pleasure!
