Discover the diversity of Moselle wines at a barrel staves tasting in our pavilion of the wine tavern with a magnificent view of the Moselle. Choose four wines of 0.05 liters from our wine list and enjoy characterful Rieslings from the steep slopes around Zell-Merl as well as other selected grape varieties. We also warmly welcome you to our wine shop.

Our vineyards are located, among others, in the sites Zeller Burglay-Felsen, Merler Fettgarten, Königslay-Terrassen, Stephansberg, and Adler. In addition to Riesling, we also cultivate Kerner, Bacchus, Müller-Thurgau, Grauburgunder, and the red grape variety Dornfelder. Our range extends from quality wine to special specialties such as ice wine and late harvest. It is complemented by sparkling wine, Mosecco, de-alcoholized Riesling, and our own grape juice.

The work in the vineyard is genuine handwork: Master vintner Silvia Steffens-Durm and her team take care of each individual vine around 17 times throughout the year. The grapes are also carefully hand-picked. Subsequently, fruity wines are created from them in the approximately 250-year-old vaulted cellar, which are matured in large oak casks or stainless steel tanks. The high quality of our wines has already been recognized with numerous national and international awards.

More than 375 years of winemaking tradition shape our winery: Our family has been dedicated to viticulture since 1648. Paul-Werner Steffens took over the Ernst Steffens winery from his father in 1984 and handed it over to his daughter, Master Vintner Silvia Steffens-Durm, in 2015. Today, she continues this centuries-old tradition with great passion.

Anyone who wants to dive even deeper into the world of wine can participate in a guided wine tasting with the master vintner. This includes a film about the work in the vineyard and a tour of our historic vaulted cellar. The wine tastings take place every Tuesday at 4 p.m. as well as by individual appointment and can be booked for 2 to 20 people.
