Winery Brixius

Manuel Brixius is a Mosel winemaker by conviction. In the seventh generation, he runs his family's winery in Maring-Noviand. There, he grew up among the vines and wine cellar of the family estate. Then a classic viticulture and oenology study in the wine town of Geisenheim in the Rheingau. In between, an internship at the Riesling winery Hermann J. Wiemer in New York State/USA. There, Manuel Brixius learned new facets of Riesling. Most recently, he was the production manager at the largest winemaker cooperative in Rhineland-Palatinate and one of the leading Riesling producers in the world. He was responsible for the production of 40 million bottles per year. Manuel Brixius knows everything there is to know about Riesling. Fresh, delicious, and uncomplicated – these are among the best attributes of a Mosel wine. For
this reason, Manuel Brixius now names his top wines briefly and succinctly Brix Riesling. “Brix” sounds not only like the affectionate form of Brixius in all its spicy brevity, but also refers to the Anglo-American unit of measurement for must weight (as opposed to “Öchsle” in Germany). In Brix Riesling, all the experience of Manuel Brixius combines with his ambition to produce a noble wine for connoisseurs around the world.
