The winery is located in Palzem, the southernmost wine-growing community in Rhineland-Palatinate.

The old manor house was built in the Baroque style around 1720. It served the Kingdom of Prussia from 1828, which sold the building to the Strupp family in 1863 after the founding of the German Empire. Today, the building is located in the centre of Palzem near an equally old village well. Even then, oak barrels containing the precious wine were stored in the vaulted cellar made of sand-lime bricks. For the family, "a treasure with a great tradition".

In 1985, 5 guest rooms were built, and in 2008, 5 guest rooms and 1 holiday flat were added, as well as a cosy wine tavern for around 60 people. Here, guests are spoiled with the special wines of the house.

Elbling, the oldest grape variety in Germany, is the main grape variety of the estate. It grows on the sunny gentle hills of the Upper Moselle, framed by limestone cliffs. The tradition of viticulture is not quite as old as Elblingrebe, but over 11 hectares of vineyards have been cultivated in the heart of the wine village of Palzem for several generations. But several other varieties such as Auxerrois, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Morio-Muskat, Ortega, Rivaner and Kerner are also cultivated according to the philosophy of "Tradition & Dynamics" - since 1987 also the red wine varieties Blauer Spätburgunder, Dornfelder, Merlot and Dunkelfelder.

The range includes all flavours, from the completely dry diabetic wine to the noble sweet Beerenauslese or the rarity harvested annually since 1996, the "Elbling Eiswein". Enjoy the delicious white and red wines that we serve you in the wine bar. Learn all about viticulture and the tradition of the winery and get to know not only the traditional grape variety Elbling but also the excellent red wines.

Start the day with a rich breakfast served in the wine tavern and experience the charming landscape of the wine village Palzem.
