The Gehlen-Cornelius winery is located on the edge of Brauneberg, surrounded by vineyards on the Middle Moselle. Shaped by steep slopes, the special Moselle climate, and ancient slate soil, mainly mineral Rieslings are produced here, characterized by elegant style and high drinkability.
Around Brauneberg and Wintrich, in addition to Riesling, Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay are grown; the range is complemented by a small red wine line with Merlot, Blaufränkisch, and Syrah.
In the vineyard, the team relies on reduced plant protection and fertilization as well as consistent yield reduction to achieve small, aromatic grapes and a clear site character – especially from the Brauneberger Juffer and the Wintricher Ohligsberg. In the cellar, tradition meets modern technology: Only healthy, ripe harvest comes into the production facility, which is completely underground; the wines age slowly in temperature-controlled tanks and are bottled in the spring after longer storage on the fine lees.
Visitors are warmly welcome during the season – for wine purchases and advice.
The winery is an ideal place for wine enjoyment for holidaymakers on the Moselle and at the same time a starting point for hikes through the vineyards, for bike tours along the Moselle – or simply a place of relaxation.
Breakfast buffet from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. - not just for hotel guests
