vinery

A lance for the Elbling. The small fine winery near the border with Luxembourg can look back on a long tradition of winegrowing. All wines from the 2012 vintage onwards are produced organically and awarded the ECOVIN certificate. On the heavy, deep loamy shell limestone soil, one rarely finds Riesling; however, the grape varieties Elbling, Auxerrois, Weißburgunder, Spätburgunder, and newly introduced Sauvignac and Satin Noir thrive excellently. Here at Karl Sonntag winery, independent, harmonious wines and Crémants are created with great passion.

Tastings & sales are gladly available by appointment or during the stated opening hours.

Visit the historic winery in the most beautiful section of the southern Wine Moselle. In the stylishly furnished guest rooms, you will feel at home immediately. The charming tri-border area of Germany, France, and Luxembourg is ideal for hiking and cycling, or simply relax in the Mediterranean courtyard with a refreshing glass of Elbling or Crémant. In the over 100-year-old vaulted cellar, breakfast is served for overnight guests. Here, wine tastings and events for up to 60 people also take place.
