Winery Philipps-Eckstein

In the family, wine has been cultivated since the 17th century. The Philipps-Eckstein winery itself has existed since 1968, in its current form since 1998. The size of the winery is 5 hectares, and the vineyards are located in the districts of Graach and Bernkastel. Soil and vine cultivation is predominantly done by hand. The vineyards are found in the premier locations of Graacher Himmelreich, Graacher Domprobst, and Bernkasteler Johannisbrünnchen. In addition to Riesling, the grape varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris are also grown. The emphasis is clearly on Riesling.
The winery - a member of the Bernkasteler Ring - boasts numerous references and awards, including "Winemaker of the Year," honorary prizes, state honors, federal honors, and winning wines in various competitions. The renowned wine guide Gault-Millau lists them in 2021 as a rising star with 3 red grapes, the Vinum Wine Guide 2022 with 2.5 stars, and "Feinschmecker" with 3 "F."
