VDP-winery

The von Othegraven winery has existed since the 16th century. The estate is one of the founding members of the Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates (VDP). The stately estate building, the park and the Kanzemer Altenberg are listed as an ensemble. Günther Jauch's grandmother was born von Othegraven. Her brother Maximilian had taken over the estate from his Grach-Weissebach ancestors in 1925. As a child, Günther Jauch was often a guest in Kanzem with Uncle Max and Aunt Maria. In 2010, Günther Jauch and his wife Thea took over the von Othegraven winery from Dr Heidi Kegel. He and his wife are now the 7th generation to run the winery. It has been in the family since 1805. Precise manual work in the vineyard, sensitive intuition in the cellar - this is what our experienced and committed employees stand for. Our well-coordinated team has the necessary knowledge, patience and dedication to produce unique wines from our special sites.
