At family-owned Schmitz-Herges holiday wine estate, wine has been cultivated on the steep slopes along the Moselle River for several generations. An excellent Riesling wine and a sought-after Burgundy wine owe their matchless, full-bodied character to the excellent location of their 1.7. hectares of vineyards. Guests will have a sociable, good time in the cozy wine tavern inside the popular Spitzhäuschen, which - living up to its name - occupies only a very limited space od the historic market square of Bernkastel-Kues.
The vineyards are tended by hand year-round. First-class wine quality is always at the forefront of our wine creation philosophy, the results of which delight Riesling connoisseurs. The delicious wines can be enjoyed in the cozy wine tavern of the famous Spitzhäuschen. Located directly at the historic market square, visitors are offered a selection of over 50 Riesling and red wines from our own cultivation. Small snacks such as winemaker's platter with sausage, ham, and cheese are served with the wine. Get to know and appreciate the quality in this cozy wine tavern.
